The town is surrounded by amazing waterfalls, active volcanoes, and plenty of culture. L&L chose to have its homestays in the town of Heredia because it really is a pearl for living in this beautiful country.

Heredia is the smallest of the three cities (San Jose, Alajuela, Heredia) in the Central Valley. It's known as the "city of flowers" and has universities, coffee shops, churches, parks, a movie theater and even a new mall. However, Heredia is not a major tourist attraction. So it is an excellent place for an immersion experience and for learning the language.

L&L is located in the central mountain region of Costa Rica about 30km outside the capital of San Jose. Our location gives you the tranquility of the Costa Rican countryside even though you are in the vicinity of the major cities. At L&L we study the grammar of the language but the majority of class time is conversational. Our school facility is designed to give the student a pleasant learning environment. Our small classes assure plenty of conversation time for each student. At L&L we believe that learning a language in a foreign country should offer more than just learning the language so we do our own cooking and dance classes. Our location outside of the Americanized cities gives the students a feel for the culture of Costa Rica. With our homestays you can use the conversational skills you have learned. Our selected families will welcome you into their homes. Here you will enjoy their hospitality, typical Costa Rican meals and definitely make new friends. Costa Rica is a country separated from other Spanish speaking countries because of the nature it has to offer. At L&L we promise that you will learn plenty more than just the language.
